Child Support Direct Deposit

The Child Support Division has a program available to electronically transfer child support payments receipted through our office into your checking or savings account at your bank. Your money will be deposited into your bank account the next business day (technical difficulties may, on occasion, cause a delay in this process) at no cost to you. These transactions are processed through the Federal Reserve System and comply with all National Automated Clearing House Association rules. Advantages to you from this program include:

  • Added flexibility and convenience

  • The amount of time it takes for you to receive your payment should be reduced

  • Many financial institutions offer free accounts with direct deposit

  • There is no cost to you for this service

In order to sign up for the Direct Deposit program, you must contact the Child Support Division at (815) 433-0774. The office will send you the proper paperwork to be filled out and returned by you. Once the original paperwork is returned, it takes approximately 2 weeks to process and the direct deposit to begin.

Once you are a member of this program, it is your responsibility to notify the clerk of any changes in your bank or account information.
