Direct Debit for Child Support
The Child Support Division has a program available to electronically debit your child support payments from your bank account. These payments can be made from any participating financial institution world-wide. All transactions are processed through the Federal Reserve System and comply with all National Automated Clearing House Association rules. Advantages to you from this program include:
-
Added flexibility and convenience
-
You will no longer have to purchase money orders, stop in the office to make payments or incur the cost of a postage stamp to mail the payment to the Circuit Clerk's office
-
The debit will be set up so that your payment amount will be taken out of your account on the days you want. It can be set up for weekly, bi-weekly, bi-monthly or monthly payments.
-
There is no cost to you for this service.
In order to sign up for the Direct Debit program, you must contact the Child Support Division at (815) 433-0774. The office will send you the proper paperwork to be filled out and returned by you. Once the original paperwork is returned, it takes approximately one (1) week to process and the direct debit to begin.
Once you are a member of this program, it is your responsibility to notify the clerk of any changes in your bank or account number, a dollar amount change, or cancellation of such program.
