Paying Child Support
Due to the volume of cases the office deals with, a few guidelines should be followed to insure proper posting of court ordered payments.
-
Always enclose the name and case number of the person responsible for making the payment.
-
Payments may be made in the form of cash, cashier's check, certified check or money order. Credit cards are not accepted for payment of child support.
-
Personal checks will also be accepted if the payor's current address is shown on the payment. Personal checks will not be accepted after two instances of being returned from the bank unpaid.
-
Postdated checks will not be accepted.
-
All checks or money orders should be made payable to: LaSalle County Circuit Clerk
-
Mail payments to: LaSalle County Circuit Clerk; 119 W. Madison Street Room 200; Ottawa, IL 61350
-
Payments may be made in person at the following location: LaSalle County Circuit Clerk; Child Support Division; 119 W. Madison Street, Room 200; Ottawa, IL
-
An annual fee of $36 is assessed in January of each year. This fee is in addition to and separate from amounts to be paid as child support. Payment of this fee should be sent as a separate check or money order to the Circuit Clerk's office. This payment should be designated as "Administrative Fee" to assure proper accounting credit.
